EYG (Epiphany Youth Group) We will have no meeting today, but please plan on attending our Annual Christmas Party Saturday, Dec. 10 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. We have a special guest, Mou Riiny, from the Sudan. We will decorate Christmas Cookies and have a white elephant gift exchange, music, food, and Christmas fun.
Advent Lecture Series: Exploring the Psalms
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., December 7 and 14.
Please join Dr. Brian Driscoll and the Very Rev. Melissa McCarthy the first three Wednesdays in Advent to explore why the Psalms are so special to us, why we sing them, and what they mean. Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
OWLs Christmas Luncheon.
Please join us at noon on Thursday, December 8th to celebrate with delicious food, entertainment, wonderful company, and fun activities! Because this is a catered luncheon, please confirm your attendance with Dave Burrows in the church office by tomorrow morning. All are welcome, so please invite your friends, and join us!
Page Turners Book Club will meet Thursday, December 8 at 10:00am in Room 1. We will be reviewing Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand and A Visit From the Goon Squad. Join us for coffee and lively conversation. If you haven’t read the books come anyway. It’s a great way to get to know good books and people. See you there!
Christmas: In Prose and Poem
Sunday, December 11, 7:00 p.m.
Presented in Readers’ Theater fashion, this delightful program of readings and recitations on Christmas and its celebration will feature members of the Epiphany family – adults and children, young and old. You’ll be delighted by both old and new, familiar and novel readings. A reception will follow.
Outreach
Our 7th Annual Adopt-a-Family continues today after the 10:00 a.m. service in the Bishop’s hall.
Make Christmas joyful this year by adopting a family through the Lutheran Social Services. Please stop by our table for information. Be sure to leave your name and phone number with an Outreach member at the table. LSS asks that gifts be wrapped and NOT in gift bags. All wrapped gifts must be turned in by Sunday December 11, 2011. Cash/check donations are also accepted for the purchase of gift cards. Thank you for you support.

In Concert at Epiphany: Oaks Camerata: A Chamber Vocal Ensemble in the Conejo Valley,
December 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Advanced purchase of tickets is recommended.

Admission for Music Guild Members is free, but please contact Brian in advance to arrange for your tickets. The concert will include Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Messe de minuit pour noël (H. 9, ca. 1690) and Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols (Op. 28, 1942), as well as music by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1562-1621), and more. The Britten will be accompanied by harpist Paul Baker, and organ accompaniments will be provided by Namhee Han.
The Depressions Support Group will have a special guest speaker, John Horton, M.D. on “The Inner Game of Stress”, on Monday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Bishop’s Hall. See flier in the Narthex or Bishop’s Hall.
